| ITEM: |

| Definition or Description: |
Those skills in translating content expertise into actions so as to produce a product and/or provide a service. |
|
Comment: |
Frequently,
the practices of the discipline are embedded into instruction and thus,
knowledge of practice is necessary. These practices can include the approach
to and structuring of knowledge in the discipline (content epistemology),
habits of thought (logic and critical thinking in the discipline), process
routines (derived from both theoretical positions and requirements in
the field), clinical applications (particularly, but not exclusively in
health care or human services situations), or the professional integration
of the disciplines into other fields (for example, the application of
management principles to a study of the effectiveness of group process
in another discipline). |
