TRANSLATION (Base Profession)

Definition or Description:

The transformation of research findings* within one's formally recognized area of expertise (base profession) to produce new products, services, techniques, protocols, or artistic expressions of value or benefit to one or more segments of the general community.

Comment:

 * Research findings do not necessarily have to be only those produced by the scholar.
